Privacy Policy
This privacy statement covers the GardenScape web site. The site is administered by the Gardenscape Professionals Association ("Association"). We respect our users' privacy, and hereby disclose our online information and privacy practices, disclosing what information we gather and how we use it.
Personal Information
We consider "personal information" to be facts such as name, address, telephone number, or email address. You do not have to provide any personal information to visit and utilize this Web site. If you choose to provide us with personal information, such as by filling out a form and submitting it through our Web site, or by purchasing show tickets, we will use that information to respond to your message or to fulfill the ticket order.
Cookies
We may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie automatically identifies your computer, but not your identity, to our server during the visit to our web site.
The cookie itself does not contain personal information, even if you have provided it to us. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. We use cookies placed on your computer to momentarily save results of your searches of our site. As a visitor, our cookies expire on your computer soon after you visit our site.
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. Again, you do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site, and if you reject the cookie, you'll have full use of our site. The only drawback to this is that you will have some convenience features limited in areas of our site.
Log Files - What is gathered
Like most standard web site servers, ours receives routine data when you view our site pages, and saves it to a log file. This includes internet protocol address, browser type, referring pages, platform type, and date/time. Here is more information on those:
- An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a set of numbers that is automatically assigned to your computer each time you connect to the Internet. When you use your Web browser to request a Web page from a site, your Web browser automatically tells the site server your IP address so that the data you request can be sent to your computer. For many users who access the Internet from a dial-up Internet Service Provider, the IP address will be different every time they log on; others may be assigned only one IP address that remains the same from session to session, commonly with broadband providers.
- Referring pages - If you come to our site via a link, the source of that referral is captured. This is used to help us know where our users learn of us.
- Browser type - This information (e.g. "Internet Explorer 6.0") is captured to help us ensure our site supports the technology used by our visitors.
- Platform type - Typically the operating system of your computer (e.g. "Windows XP").
Log Files - What data is used
Data stored in our log files, including what pages visitors as a group have viewed, is used as aggregated tracking information. Our association aggregates and analyzes the information it collects over many visitors to improve our service and to determine interests and needs of our visitors. We do not correlate this information with data about individual visitors.
Our web server sometimes tracks the search terms that users enter in our Search functions, but this tracking is never associated with personal information. We use the search information to identify the success of such features, and guide us in their improvement. Both the log files and search information can be viewed only by the site administrators and not the public.
Contact Form
If you contact the show producers through our contact form on the web site, we may store copies of such communications. This can result in the collection of such personal information as your name, email address, postal address, as well as the collection of your IP address and the date and time of your communication. We do not attempt to correlate this information to your previous use of the web site unless responding to your inquiry requires us to do so. Information collected through the form is used only for responding to you, and is not shared with any third party.
The Association does not send unsolicited e-mail. You will not be automatically be "signed up" for anything. If you have selected to join our email list, each message sent contains instructions on how to remove yourself from the list. If you feel that communication to you from the Association is unsolicited, please contact our office to resolve this problem.
Children
At this time, there is no area of the web site that is meant for the use of children. Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.
Sharing Collected Information
We will not share information about individual users with any third party, except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, aid in the investigation of misuse of web services, or to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site. Other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. The Association takes no responsibility for the cookies these sites or advertisers might deposit on your hard drive; we cannot read them and have no use for them. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information.
